Making calls

Free PC to PC Calls

Making a call

  • You can make a call to another User by :
  • Double clicking on their name in the Online Monitor.
  • Double clicking on their name in your address book or Company directory to bring up their profile, then click the Call button.
  • Typing their username into the FastTalk! [Enter email, press GO!] box below the Online Monitor. If the user is registered it will call them. If they are not registered you can invite them to join our network. WhitePhone will send them a personal invitation on your behalf. If you agree to send them an email just click the OK button in a FastTalk! pop-up window. You will see a pop up box Invitation sent.
  • Clicking on the phone icon by their entry in the Free Net Calls.
  • Double clicking on their name in your message log, bringing up their profile and clicking the Call button.
  • Finding a contact in Search, double clicking on their name to bring up their profile and clicking on the Call button.
  • If you have a voice or text message from a person you can double click on the persons name to bring up their profile and hit the Call button.

After hitting the call button you will hear a ringing tone while the call tries to connect. If the person you are calling answers, their details will appear in the call window. You can now talk and exchange text messages to each other.

Accepting an incoming call

You should hear and see an incoming call. A call window will pop up on your screen with the details of the caller. The window will include the callers photo (if one has been provided), Name, Company Name and Position. To accept the call press Accept. To reject the call press Reject.

If you reject the call the user can leave a voice or text message or use FollowMe! providing your settings allow this.

 

Please note: you will not receive incoming calls if your settings are not correct. See Options and Online Status.  If you have difficulty receiving calls, check which Options you have set in Personal Profile, and also check that your Status is set to online

Ending a Call

To end a call click the End Call button at the right hand side of the chat window or

 

click the red phone icon under the [Enter email, press Go!] box (bottom left).

Making a PC to Phone (Off Net) Call

Click on the Call Tab followed by the Phone Calls button at the top of the screen.

Your current balance amount will be displayed in USD, GBP or Euro depending on which currency you chose when you signed up.

Select the country you wish to call from the drop down list. The country code will appear. Then type in the rest of the number using either the number keys on your keyboard or the dial pad in the Call tab window.

You shouldn’t include any brackets, dashes or other punctuation marks in the number.  For most countries you should also drop the leading zero in the area code, but our system will automatically do this if necessary.

Click the green Call button and wait for the connection.

To hang up the call hit the End button on the dialler or the red phone button at the bottom left of the screen. The call will terminate.

 

Adding money to your Phone Account Balance

To add money to your phone account balance click on the Account Balance at the bottom of your WhitePhone window or “To add money to your account: click here” in the Call tab and you will be taken to an Account Log-in page in a browser window. Enter your email address and password. These are the same as the ones used to access the WhitePhone software. Click Login.

Fill in the payment details (Visa or Master Card) and select the amount you want to add to the account.  As part of our anti-fraud procedures, there are certain restrictions on the amount which can be added at any one time.  You will receive a message if you try to add more than the maximum available for your account.

 Your address will be retrieved from your account details. If this is not the address that your credit card is registered to please edit the fields and provide the correct information. It is important that this information is provided correctly, as failure to do so could result in your account being blocked by our anti-fraud procedures.

When you have provided all the details hit Submit and wait for your card to be processed.

As soon as the payment has been processed the funds will be available for make calls.

Your new balance will appear in the Phone Calls window. If this doesn't up-date and you need to see the balance then go to File and Log Out and log back in to WhitePhone. Your New balance will then be displayed.

Call Logs

You can access Call logs through the Call Tab. All PC to PC calls are logged in the Net Call Logs while Phone Calls are logged in the Phone Calls section.

 

PC to PC Call Logs

Click the Net Call Logs from within the Call Tab Window.
For each call log entry you will see the Contact Name, Date/Time and Duration of the call.

By double clicking on a persons contact name it will bring up their personal profile.

If chat notes were made during the call an additional icon of a paper and pencil will be displayed. By double clicking on this a pop up window will appear displaying the chat notes. WhitePhone does not store this information centrally so it will only be accessible on the PC you were using during the chat session.

Phone Call Logs

Click the Phone Calls button from Call tab window.

All calls you have made will be logged in the lower part of the screen.
